Workspace tour
Learn how project context, the arrangement, Detail Panel, transport, and status fit together.
Sympose keeps the music, the agent, and the current editing context in one workspace. Selecting a track or clip connects the arrangement, agent conversation, and Detail Panel so you do not need to restate what you are working on.
The workspace layers
Project and chat context
Use the project navigation to create or reopen work and the chat area to direct Sympose, revisit earlier runs, or start a fresh conversation. Chats belong to a project, but each chat keeps its own conversational history.
Arrangement
The arrangement is the main musical stage. Tracks run horizontally through time and contain independent MIDI or audio clips. Use it to see song structure, select context, move material, and work with automation in place.
Detail Panel
The Detail Panel focuses on the current selection:
- Clip edits musical content. A MIDI clip opens in the piano roll; an audio clip opens with waveform and trim controls.
- Device edits how the selected track sounds. MIDI tracks begin with an instrument followed by effects. Audio tracks begin with effects.
Clip and Device can share the available space so you can change notes and sound without losing arrangement context.
Transport and project settings
Transport controls playback, recording, looping, metronome, and count-in. Project-level musical settings such as tempo, key, scale, and time signature apply across the arrangement.
Status
The status area reports state that affects your decisions: saving and sync, connectivity, audio-engine readiness, recording, agent work, conflicts, and failures. A local project remains usable when cloud or agent services are unavailable, although streaming a new agent response requires a connection.
Follow selection, not windows
Click a track to make it the sound and mixer target. Click a clip to make it the active musical editing target. Agent results link back to the objects or ranges they changed, and direct editing uses the same selection context.
Adjust the workspace
Resize or hide supported panels when you need more room. The desktop View menu toggles Arrangement, Detail Panel, Tracks, Side Panel, Chat, and Falling Notes. Sympose preserves essential playback, selection, recording, agent, and failure state even when a detailed surface is collapsed.
