Release notes

What changed in each Sympose Studio release, stable and nightly.

Sympose Studio ships a stable release every week or two. If you turn on Nightly builds in Settings, you get a new build most days, tested less than stable. Each list below covers one version.

Stable

1.0.4

October 23, 2026

New

  • Local file browser with folder search, keyboard navigation, preview playback, and import by Enter or drag-and-drop.
  • Load personal samples onto synth oscillators, drum pads, and the sampler.
  • Synth modulation across continuous controls, with live visual feedback, broader routing, full-range depths, and improved editing.
  • Whole-track duplication and multi-part MIDI import with choices to split or keep parts together.
  • DAW-style piano-roll and clip editing, including grid-aware duplication, nudge, snapping, drag-copy, and clip overwrite behavior.
  • Plan switching in Studio Settings and launch analytics for acquisition, billing, and agent usage.

Improvements

  • Smoother playback during tempo changes and live edits, including continuous held notes while editing unison settings.
  • Synth playback now follows the patch’s amp envelope and velocity response; held keys re-attack correctly after preset changes.
  • More reliable instrument loading, playback preparation, modulation state, and one-shot sample playback.
  • Automation lanes now offer clearer creation and retargeting, with complete parameter ranges and suitable curves.
  • Selecting a clip sets the next playback start when looping is off, without interrupting current playback.
  • Instrument selector scrolling stays in place while browsing search results or catalogs.
  • Mix analysis and export now include every track, prepare instruments independently, and identify tracks that render silently.
  • Audio diagnostics now surface render costs and dropout warnings, while spectrum analysis is limited to the focused track.
  • Driver and native harness runs are hidden and muted by default.
  • Humanize works on dense repeated notes without dropping them.

Fixes

  • Loop playback no longer wraps twice or drops notes at the loop start.
  • Tempo changes no longer revert after audio edits or lose a later local update.
  • Large piano-roll pastes no longer disable Undo for the rest of the session.
  • The hidden “Show tracks” control no longer blocks workspace restoration.
  • Synth and instrument edits can now be undone and redone reliably.
  • Removed the obsolete clipboard status pill while preserving copy and paste behavior.

Nightly

1.1.0-nightly.20261027

October 27, 2026

Highlights

  • A refreshed Studio interface makes projects, tracks, clips, instruments, the mixer, and the agent easier to navigate.
  • The agent can now start chats with a project picker when no project is open.
  • Updates can install quietly in the background, with release highlights shown after updating.
  • Undo and redo now preserve every track and clip created by split MIDI imports.
  • Agent changes that create tracks and assign instruments can be undone reliably.

New

  • “New agent” starts a chat in the current project or opens a project picker when no project is selected.
  • Settings, sign-in, plan dialogs, instrument management, and About now use the refreshed Studio design.
  • The agent chat has a redesigned composer with project and model pickers, attachment controls, clipboard access, clearer activity rows, and a calmer empty state.

Improvements

  • The arrangement has clearer empty states, track controls, automation lanes, clip styling, and New track and Export actions.
  • Piano roll, audio editing, and clip inspectors now share a calmer editor layout with clearer audio readouts.
  • Synth, sampler, drums, effects, and the Add effect picker use more consistent controls and easier-to-scan layouts.
  • The mixer now uses one shared scale, slimmer fader controls, and a clearer master strip.
  • Sidebar navigation, headers, status information, dark surfaces, modals, menus, focus states, and keyboard hints now follow a more consistent visual system.
  • The Settings sidebar stays aligned with the workspace and can be resized using the same remembered width.
  • The synth modulation dot now follows the envelope and LFO curves correctly.
  • Add credits opens at its full layout instead of briefly flashing a narrow panel.

Fixes

  • Starting a chat without an open project now asks which project to use instead of producing an error.
  • Undo and redo now restore all tracks and clips created by a split MIDI import.
  • Agent turns that create a track and assign its instrument can now be reverted from Changes.
